Did we make it that obvious? We confess we aren’t shy to admit how much we love our community! Our office is located in the heart of Sioux Falls. And while we work around the clock for our clients, we also make sure we take time to make our home a better place too.
We are just over halfway through the year, and we have already given back in big ways. We have contributed to several non-profits in our community that make a large impact and here are just a few:
The Banquet
The Banquet is a meal ministry here in Sioux Falls that provides meals to families in need throughout the area. Last summer, The Banquet expanded its charitable efforts with Project: SOS (Supply Our Students), a fundraising drive collecting backpacks and school supplies to distribute to children of low-income families.
We made a contribution because we believe no child should have to go to school without the proper learning tools. In addition to our donation, we also hosted an additional drop off location at our office. You can learn more about The Banquet and their efforts here.
The Compass Center
The Compass Center works relentlessly to break the cycle of violence by providing counseling and support for survivors of sexual and domestic violence and crisis intervention. Ver Beek Law was proud to be the Marathon Sponsor of their most fun and creative fundraiser of the year back in July called “South Dakota’s Laziest Race.” By simply walking half a 1k, participants could help survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, and human trafficking in huge ways. Participants enjoyed a cold free beer (or root beer) at the finish line. Learn how to become a sponsor next year or more about the Compass Center here.
East River Foster Parent Network
While fostering children isn’t for everyone, we believe that every child and adolescent deserves an opportunity to thrive. At the East River Foster Parent Network (ERFPN),
their mission is to empower and support Eastern South Dakota foster parents in providing a safe and caring environment for children in foster care. When a child goes into foster care, it’s common they don’t have many belongings. The Foster Care Clothing Closet in Sioux Falls allows families to go to the closet to get those items, and we were proud to help promote the program. You can learn more about ERFPN here.
The Hygiene Drive
The Sioux Falls hygiene drive was a unique opportunity to be a part of this year! Faith Presbyterian Church and Highest Health Chiropractic partnered together to collect and distribute hygiene products for those in need all July and we were excited to spread the word about it. Donations were dropped off at Highest Health Chiropractic.
We love our community! It's where we live, work and play. We believe in supporting our local non-profits to make our community a better place. Make a donation request with our firm by emailing Crystal at jill@verbeeklaw.com or calling us at 605-988-8556.
