At Ver Beek Law, Prof. L.L.C., we are pleased to announce that we will be participating in South Dakota’s First Annual Laziest “Race”: The Compass .5K. The event is the perfect opportunity for non-runners to avoid competition while supporting a good cause. No – your eyes do not deceive you: this race covers the staggering distance of half a kilometer, which roughly measures out to one-third of a mile.
Presented by The Compass Center, participants in this new charitable “race” will have a chance to enjoy the Sioux Falls bike trail while enjoying a cold beer from Remedy Brewing. The Compass Center is a charitable organization that supports survivors of sexual and domestic violence by offering free counseling services for those who need it. The organization provides free services to more roughly 700 men, women, and children, thanks to the generosity of donors.
Although The Compass Center is an active community organization, you don’t have to do anything close to being “active” for you to enjoy this unique marathon. “Racers” are encouraged to dress up in costumes. For those who need to have their competitive spirit stimulated, they can enter into the costume contest and win a valuable prize – and it isn’t improved in cardiovascular health!
Still too active for you? Fear not – there is a large rest area along the bike trail where you can kick back and rest. Not convinced about The Compass Center’s commitment to taking it easy? Try the VIP option where you have the opportunity to ride in style for the entire .5 kilometers.
Participants will get free swag and goodies so you can boast your unparalleled potential at completely reserving your potential, including a “coveted t-shirt to wear proudly” and a “pretentious oval, Euro-style sticker to display in your vehicle wheel,” among others.
The Compass .5K is your chance to reap the benefits of athletic underachievement as the crowd goes mild!
